Florida State hopes Manuel can extend win streak

BOSTON (AP) — When Boston College coach Frank Spaziani looks at Florida State, he sees the team that was in the top 5 early in the season and not the one that lost three straight to fall out of the rankings entirely.

BC plays the Seminoles on Thursday night, and both teams are hoping to salvage a season. The Eagles need to win the rest of their games to qualify for a bowl. BC opened the season 1-6, and it would need to win the rest of its games to extend its streak of 12 straight bowl games alive.

Florida State had big expectations, moving as high as No. 5 in the nation before losing to Oklahoma, Clemson and Wake Forest. But now that the Seminoles have quarterback EJ Manuel back, they seem to have turned things around.
