MEDFORD, Ore. (AP) — Authorities in Southern Oregon say a suspect in a shooting has died in a high-speed crash.

The Medford Mail Tribune (http://bit.ly/tfcgdc ) says that officers in Central Point responding to a 911 call Tuesday morning found a vehicle with a shattered window on the driver’s side and two injured people inside. One was a man with a gunshot wound in the face and the other was a woman whose injuries weren’t specified except that they weren’t from gunfire.

The Jackson County sheriff’s department says that later, Oregon State Police gave chase to a car whose occupants were suspects. It says the car went down an embankment and crashed, killing one man inside. Two others were taken into custody.
