EUGENE, Ore. (AP) — Records show the University of Oregon’s special one-time raises will cost nearly $5 million and went to more than 1,100 faculty members and administrators.
The raises in May came as other state agencies cut back and as the state university system was bargaining with unionized workers, who did not get the special increases.
A top goal of President Richard Lariviere is pay equity with comparable schools to attract and keep talented people.
The Eugene Register-Guard reports an analysis of the records released by the university shows (http://bit.ly/uYJdXB ) increases ranged upward of 30 percent, and went to 743 active faculty members and 417 administrators.
