Cargo plane crews return to Lewis-McChord

JOINT BASE LEWIS-MCCHORD, Wash. (AP) — The Air Force says more than 100 airmen are returning to Joint Base Lewis-McChord Thursday after a two-month deployment operating C-17 cargo planes in support of the war in Afghanistan.

The members of the 8th Airlift Squadron flew more than 1,000 combat sorties, including airdrops to remote forward operation locations.
