OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) — A 13-year-old boy accused of killing his father will be allowed to attend his father’s funeral Saturday.

The Olympian reports that a juvenile court commissioner also decided Friday that the boy’s release on bail must include 24-hour electronic monitoring at his mother’s home. He’ll attend school at the juvenile jail.

The boy’s family earlier posted $100,000 bail, but the court still had to set terms of his release. He is charged in juvenile court with first-degree murder.

Defense lawyer James Dixon says the boy’s family believes the shooting of 39-year-old Jimmie Asher Jr. as he slept Oct. 23 was an accident.
