King’s Way, Seton advance to volleyball state tournament

Two teams will play for district title

Seton Catholic and King’s Way Christian will play for the Class 1B district title after each won a semifinal match on Thursday. The title match will be played at 4 p.m. on Saturday at Adna High School.

Erin Sprowls had 15 kills and two aces, and Taylor Nein added nine kills and 11 digs to lead King’s Way to a 25-10, 25-12, 25-19 win over Three Rivers Christian. Sarah Landstrom added 29 assists, seven aces and seven digs for the Knights.

Cheyenne Cunning had 20 kills, leading Seton Catholic into the district championship match with a 25-2, 25-19, 25-22 over Lake Quinault. Brynn Letang had eight aces and 18 assists.

By reaching the district final, both King’s Way Christian and Seton Catholic clinched berths to next week’s 1B state tournament in Yakima.
