FULLERTON, Calif. (AP) — John Underwood, a 6-foot-9 transfer from Missouri, has won a hardship appeal to the NCAA and will be eligible to play at Cal State Fullerton this season.

The school said Friday that Underwood has two years of eligibility remaining.

Underwood played in four games for the Tigers last season before leaving school to return to his home in Phoenix for family matters. As a freshman in 2009-10 he played minimal minutes in 14 games.

Transfers Omondi Amoke and D. J. Seeley from California and Kwame Vaughn from San Francisco are eligible this season. Amoke (shoulder) and Seeley (leg) are expected to be sidelined for possibly another two weeks due to injuries.
