EVERETT, Wash. (AP) — The Washington State Patrol has launched an investigation of Snohomish County Executive Aaron Reardon on an allegation of possible misuse of public funds.

Patrol spokesman Bob Calkins told KIRO-TV and KOMO-TV on Thursday the investigation was launched Oct. 26 at the request of the Snohomish County prosecutor’s office.

Reardon is running for re-election against a challenge from state Rep. Mike Hope.
