CULLOWHEE, N.C. (AP) — Wofford had its best rushing game in more than a decade and beat Western Carolina 42-24 on Saturday.
The Terriers (7-2, 5-1 Southern Conference) rushed for six touchdowns and 500 yards, the most in a single game for Wofford since it had 510 in 1999.
Eric Breitenstein, who ran for 112 yards and a touchdown, surpassed 100 yards for the eighth time this season. Donovan Johnson had 136 yards and two scores for the Terriers, who have won six of their past seven.
Wofford has beaten Western Carolina six straight times and has scored at least 35 points per game during that span.
