Six women from a local church have started a chapter of God’s Closet, a nonprofit organization that provides new or lightly used clothing for children ages newborn to 18.

The first shopping event will be 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11 at Vancouver Seventh-day Adventist Church, 9711 N.E. St. Johns Road in Hazel Dell.

Admission is $1.

Parents and guardians will be given two bags, which they can fill with donated clothes.

Laura Pascoe and five other church moms started the chapter after seeing a child wear the same outfit several days in a row at a summer church camp.

The group plans to host four shopping events a year. Donations are still being accepted.

For more information, call Pascoe at 360-991-5201 or email laura@godscloset.us.
