JOINT BASE LEWIS-MCCHORD, Wash. (AP) — The Army says one soldier assigned Washington state’s Joint Base Lewis-McChord was killed, and four other soldiers from the base were injured when the Stryker vehicle in which they were riding rolled over during a training exercise in California.

The soldier killed Monday was not immediately identified pending notification of relatives.

A JBLM spokesman says the rollover happened at the Army’s National Training Center at Fort Irwin, Calif. The soldiers are all assigned to the 2nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division. Three of the injured soldiers were treated at a nearby military hospital and released. A fourth was transported to a civilian medical treatment facility.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
