SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) — Kris Joseph scored 12 points and freshman Michael Carter-Williams added 11 to lead No. 5 Syracuse to an 87-69 victory over Division II Saint Rose on Tuesday night, the Orange’s final exhibition game.

It was an unexpectedly back-and-forth game in the first half then the Orange pulled away in the second. Andre Pope’s 3-pointer at the first-half buzzer sent the Golden Knights into the locker room tied at 30-all.

Pope finished with 14 points and sophomore center Dominykas Milkas had 14 points and eight rebounds to lead Saint Rose, which outrebounded the much taller Orange 38-33.
