LOS ANGELES (AP) — UCLA cornerback Aaron Hester has been reprimanded by the Pac-12 for criticizing the officials who made a key pass-interference call against him in the final minutes of the Bruins’ 29-28 win over Arizona State last Saturday.

Commissioner Larry Scott publicly reprimanded Hester on Monday, saying the junior’s comments violated league policy.

Hester was whistled for pass interference on a play down Arizona State’s sideline during its final drive, moving the Sun Devils across midfield before Alex Garoutte missed a 46-yard field goal attempt as time expired. Television replays showed no contact between Hester and the Arizona State receiver.

Hester said the call was “terrible,” and intimated that the officiating crew wanted to keep the then-No. 20 Sun Devils’ drive alive.
