Esther Short — During Habitat for Humanity’s annual Raising the Roof Breakfast on Oct. 28, $50,000 was raised to help house low-income residents of Clark County. Proceeds from the breakfast will build homes, as well as support the A Brush with Kindness program. Kim Capeloto was the emcee, and Josh Townsley, John McKibbin and Joe Pauletto made special presentations. Future Women Build homeowner Desere’ Bastidas shared her story about the importance of having a home for her children. Bank of America underwrote the breakfast, so all the donations from the event will fund programs.
