BREMERTON, Wash. (AP) — The Bremerton High School band, Congressman Norm Dicks, state Transportation Department leaders and other officials will take the first steps and rides across the new Manette Bridge on Thursday in Bremerton.

The $46 million bridge on Highway 303 crosses the Washington Narrows next to the 80-year-old bridge it is replacing.

The old Manette Bridge closed to traffic in July and will be demolished after the new bridge opens.
