Stevenson — Ezra and Rocket have had a busy month.

The two Skamania County K9 officers and their partners, Deputies Summer Scheyer and Russ Hastings, were on call daily in October. The teams have been involved in arrest and search warrants resulting in the recovery of methamphetamine, cash, LSD, marijuana and stolen property, and in the apprehension of a suspect from Camas who fled after a vehicle he was driving was stopped by spike strips.

Both K9 teams are trained in narcotics investigation. Ezra also is trained in tracking and apprehension.

“They truly are an asset to our office and to the citizens of Skamania County,” Chief Criminal Deputy Pat Bond said.
