PASCO, Wash. (AP) — Election night results show Franklin County voters approving a public safety sales tax.

The Tri-City Herald reports (http://bit.ly/tbiZPl ) revenue would be split between the county and cities to pay for an expanded county jail, a Pasco police station, municipal court space and anti-gang initiatives.

The new tax would add 3 cents to a $10 purchase.
