SYDNEY (AP) — Hunter Mahan has withdrawn from the Australian Open because of soreness behind his right shoulder.
Mahan says the area near his scapula was sore a few days ago and only slightly improved during the first round, when he opened with a 73. He says it didn’t improve Friday morning, and did not want to risk further injury before the Presidents Cup.
