More mass-casualty drills are taking place today at the old Vancouver City Hall building at 210 E. 13th St., on the corner of 13th and C streets in downtown Vancouver.

The drills are being staged over several days to give as many emergency responders as possible a chance to participate in the training.

Student volunteers from Vancouver School of Arts and Academics volunteered to wear makeup and pose as patients.

People downtown may notice emergency vehicles and other equipment in the area.

In an unrelated note, broadcast media are participating in a drill at 11 a.m. today to test the nationwide emergency alert system.
