Boise State lays out Colorado Christian 95-44

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Derrick Marks scored 20 points in his Boise State debut to help the Broncos to a convincing 95-44 victory over Colorado Christian on Friday night in the season opener for both schools.

Marks shot 8 of 8 from the field while Ryan Watkins added 14 points on 7-of-7 shooting for the Broncos.

Kyle Weaver led the Cougars with 10 points. The Division II team committed 27 turnovers.

Marks came off the bench to score 13 first-half points. He tallied 11 during an 18-5 run that gave the Broncos a 29-14 lead with nine minutes left in the half.

Westly Perryman added 11 points and six assists for Boise State.

Boise State shot 66.7 percent from the field and forced 13 first-half turnovers en route to a 48-24 halftime advantage.

Anthony Drmic and Igor Hadziomerovic were the first Boise State freshmen to start a season opener since Coby Karl in 2003-04.
