SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — It’s looking certain that Spokane will have a new mayor on Jan. 1.
Election returns show challenger David Condon building on his Tuesday night lead over Mayor Mary Verner.
The Spokesman-Review reports (http://bit.ly/vuTVRL) Condon’s lead grew Thursday to 2,699 votes with 52.4 percent of the total.
Verner would need to win 80 percent of the 4,300 outstanding votes to hold on for a second term.
