TIGARD, Ore. (AP) — Video from an in-car police camera shows how an Oregon police officer smashed into a car that turned into the path of his cruiser and then slammed into a house — shocking the resident a few feet away watching television.

The footage of the Sept. 3 crash was released Thursday after an investigation cleared the officer.

Tigard police say nobody was seriously injured, but the cruiser was totaled.

The driver of the car was cited for failing to yield to an emergency vehicle.

The video shows the cruiser on an emergency call with its siren blaring and lights flashing.

Police say the officer assumed the driver would pull to the right. But instead, the car went left, trying to turn onto a side street.
