East Carolina dominates Milligan 101-45

GREENVILLE, N.C. (AP) — Miguel Paul scored a career-high 19 points in East Carolina’s 101-45 rout of Milligan on Saturday night in the season opener for East Carolina.

Paul, a 6-foot-3 transfer from Missouri, scored 12 of his 19 points in the second half and added seven assists and four steals in his East Carolina debut. Paul didn’t miss a shot all night, hitting all seven of his attempts from the field and two 3-pointers.

Six different East Carolina players scored in double figures as the Pirates shot 50 percent (35 of 70) from the field and an impressive 61.9 percent (13 of 21) from 3-point range.

Maurice Kemp and Austin Steed both finished with double-doubles, grabbing 11 rebounds each, to help East Carolina control the post and outscore Milligan 34-14 in the paint.

Kyle Grisby scored 15 points for Milligan, but the Buffaloes only shot 35.2 percent (19 of 54) from the field.
