Hampton leads No. 19 DePaul over Samford, 86-57

CHICAGO (AP) — Keisha Hampton scored 20 points and Anna Martin added 19 to lead No. 19 DePaul to an 86-57 victory over Samford and the Maggie Dixon Classic tournament title on Saturday night.

The Blue Demon’s victory was the 21st straight at McGrath-Phillips Arena and 64th in-a-row over nonranked opponents at home.

DePaul (2-0) scored 34 points off 25 Samford turnovers, outrebounded the Bulldogs 38-27 and had 14 steals.

The Blue Demons also hit 9 of 27 from 3 point range, including three by Martin. On Friday, DePaul tied a school record with 16 and has hit at least one 3-pointers in 61 straight games.

Guard Ruth Ketcham paced the Bulldogs (1-1) with 14 points, while Jazmine Powers and Shelby Campbell had 10 apiece.
