JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) — Josh McGregor threw for a career-high 422 yards to help Jacksonville rally and defeat Butler 34-24 on Saturday.

Following a 3-yard touchdown run by McGregor, Butler’s Brandon Grubbe rumbled for 36 yards to extend the Bulldog’s lead to 21-10 with 2:56 left to play in the first half. McGregor then threw touchdown passes to Larry Thompson, Josh Philpart and Adrian Riley as the Dolphins rallied for a 31-24 lead.

Bladen Gudz kicked his second field goal of the day to create the final margin.

Thompson, who finished with four receptions and 57 yards, has caught a pass in 30 consecutive games. Riley led all receivers with 129 yards on four receptions.

Butler’s rushing attack outgained Jacksonville (7-3, 6-1 Pioneer League) 236-41 but the Bulldogs (5-5, 3-4) failed to get anything going through the air, managing only 163 passing yards.
