Clark women third at NWAACC cross country

Holly Meler and Katrina Mueller placed fifth and sixth overall, helping the Clark College women’s cross country team to a third-place finish at the NWAACC Championships on Saturday in Everett.

Clark had 74 points behind first-place Everett (56), and Treasure Valley (68).

Meler, a Columbia River High grad, ran the 5K course in 18:38, with Mueller, a Mountain View grad, right behind in 18:39.

Angela Gula, a Heritage grad, was 19th (19:46), Tamara Kulla, a La Center grad, was 22nd (20:03), and Shelby Beaudoin, a Prairie grad, was 30th (20:33) to round out the score. Briel Cossette, also a Prairie grad, placed 34th (20:55).

The Clark men placed seventh with 174 points. Everett won with 21.

The top Clark runner was Nathan Richards in 27th place. He finished the 8K course in 26:05. Nathan Perry was 35th, Sterling Yates 37th, Walker Riley 39th, and Roman Len 40th.

Season ends for Clark women’s soccer

The Clark College women’s soccer team saw its season end Saturday in the quarterfinals of the NWAACC playoffs.

Clark lost to top-ranked Walla Walla 6-0.

Kaylie Winston scored four goals for Walla Walla (20-0-1).

Clark finishes 7-12-0.
