Creighton crushes Chicago State 95-61

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — Doug McDermott had a game-high 21 points and eight rebounds Sunday as Creighton routed Chicago State 95-61.

McDermott was 10 of 12 from the field. The Bluejays (2-0) had three other players in double figures — Jahenns Manigat with 15 points, Austin Chatman had 12 and Grant Gibbs scored 11. Chatman also had six assists for Creighton.

Jeremy Robinson led the Cougars (0-2) with 20 points. He matched McDermott’s total of eight rebounds. Jacobby Anderson scored 12 points for Chicago State, which led only once, at 5-2. The Bluejays jumped to a 25-14 lead and stayed ahead by double figures the rest of the way.
