HARRISONBURG, Va. (AP) — Dae’Quan Scott rushed for 127 yards and two touchdowns, and Justin Thorpe accounted for two more scores as James Madison cruised to a 31-13 victory over Rhode Island Saturday in Colonial Athletic Association action.

Scoring in every quarter and shutting out Rhode Island (3-7, 2-5) for the first three, the Dukes (6-4, 4-3) raced to a 28-0 lead and coasted home. Thorpe ran 10 yards in the first quarter to open the scoring, then threw a 24-yard touchdown pass to Renard Robinson in the second for a 14-0 halftime lead.

Then Scott took over. He scored both of his touchdowns in the third quarter, the second on a 66-yard run.

Rhode Island finally got on the scoreboard in the fourth quarter. Robert Bentson ran 11 yards for one touchdown and Steve Probst a yard for the second. But it was way too little too late.
