RENTON, Wash. (AP) — The Seattle Seahawks’ surprising win over Baltimore came with a significant injury cost.
Rookie right guard John Moffitt will be lost for the season after tearing the MCL and PCL ligaments in his right knee, coach Pete Carroll said on Monday, a day after the Seahawks beat the Ravens 22-17. Moffitt was hurt in the first quarter when he got caught in a pile and never returned.
Along with Moffitt, the Seahawks saw wide receivers Sidney Rice and Doug Baldwin, and strong safety Kam Chancellor leave with concussions. All three were feeling better on Monday, Carroll said, but their availability for Sunday’s game at St. Louis won’t be known until later in the week.
Seattle’s win over Baltimore snapped a three-game losing streak and included a second straight 100-yard rushing game from Marshawn Lynch. He was the first Seattle back to have consecutive 100-yard games since September 2008.
