MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) — AMA Motocross has a new TV deal with NBC Sports for 24 hours of race coverage during the 2012 season.

NBC Sports will show three live hours of programming and the NBC Sports Network, which will be renamed from Versus on Jan. 2, will have 21 hours, with 11 of those live.

The AMA Motocross season will feature 12 races in 2012, though the schedule has yet to be released.

Motocross has been shown on a variety of networks and was played on a one-week tape delay just a few years ago. Coverage was split between Speed and NBC Sports this past season.

According to MX Sports Pro Racing, Motocross’ TV audience has quadrupled in three years.
