RENTON, Wash. (AP) — The Seattle Seahawks have placed John Moffitt on injured reserve and signed lineman Paul Fanaika to the active roster.
The Seahawks made the roster moves on Tuesday. Moffitt, the Seahawks’ rookie right guard, suffered a pair of torn knee ligaments in Sunday’s 22-17 victory over Baltimore when he got caught up in a pile. An MRI revealed tears of the MCL and PCL ligaments in his right knee.
Moffitt had started all nine games for Seattle after being selected in the third round of the April draft.
Fanaika was on the Seahawks practice squad until last week, when he was released in favor of wide receiver Patrick Williams. Fanaika first joined Seattle last December when he was signed off Cleveland’s practice squad.
