Texas Southern beats Eastern Michigan 66-49

HOUSTON (AP) — Lawrence Johnson-Danner scored 20 points, including six 3-pointers, and Texas Southern used a blistering pace from long range Tuesday night to beat Eastern Michigan 66-49.

Omar Strong scored all of his 15 points from long range, hitting 5 of 7 from behind the arc. The Tigers were 13 for 22 (59 percent) from 3-point land and 25 of 39 overall, or 64 percent. Fred Sturdivant added 11 points for Texas Southern (1-1).

Darrell Lampley led Eastern Michigan (1-1) with 15 points, also all from 3-point range as he was 5 for 10 from there.
