WEST POINT, N.Y. (AP) — Army posted its highest point total in five years in a 95-40 win over outmanned Division III Marywood on Wednesday night.
Josh Herbeck led three players in double figures with 14 points as 16 players scored for the Black Knights (1-2), who snapped a 10-game losing streak dating back to last season. Jalen Harris added 11 points and Ella Ellis had 10 for Army.
The Black Knights outscored Marywood 48-17 in the second half to blow the game open. Army got 38 points off Marywood turnovers, including 21 in the second half and held the Pacers to 22.9 percent shooting (8 of 35) in the final 20 minutes.
Army began the second half with a 13-0 run as the lead grew to 60-23 with 17:03 remaining after a 3-pointer by Ellis. The Black Knights closed with a 27-6 run over the final 14 minutes for the final margin.
