UNC Asheville dominates Mars Hill 126-75

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (AP) — Keith Hornsby scored 21 points to lead seven North Carolina-Asheville players in double figures as the Bulldogs posted their second-highest point total ever while routing short-handed Mars Hill 126-75 on Wednesday night.

Coming off a 91-75 loss to No. 1 North Carolina, UNC Asheville (1-2) set a school record for assists with 38, with J.P. Primm and Matt Dickey dishing out nine apiece. The previous record was 31.

Three minutes into the game, the NCAA Division II Lions led 8-6, but the Bulldogs pulled ahead 11-8 on a Primm 3-pointer and led 59-29 at halftime.

Primm added 19 points, Corey Littlejohn had 15, Dickey and Trent Meyer scored 13 apiece and Chris Stephenson and Jaleel Roberts tallied 12 each for UNC Asheville which shot 57 percent from the field (49 of 86).

Sammy Emile scored 24 points to pace Mars Hill (1-3), which had five players out with injuries.
