INGLEWOOD, Calif. (AP) — Kettle Corn rallied from off the pace to win the $52,350 feature by a half-length Thursday at Hollywood Park.
The 4-year-old colt ran 1 1-8 miles on the synthetic Cushion Track in 1:50.49 under Joel Rosario, who rode three winners on the card. Trainer John Sadler had three winners, including the feature.
Kettle Corn paid $7.20, $3.60 and $2.20. Dynamic Host returned $5.80 and $3.60, while Uncle Sam was another 1 3-4 lengths back in third and paid $2.60 to show.
It was Kettle Corn’s fifth win in 11 career starts with earnings of $111,891.
Jockey Patrick Valenzuela was taken off his five mounts by the track stewards after he failed to appear.
