Letter: Tea Party upholds principles

The Columbian
Published: November 16, 2011, 4:00pm

The Tea Party has incurred no arrests, has supported our police, honored our flag, and left the places where they held rallies at least as neat as they found them, while advocating freedom, free market capitalism, fiscal responsibility, less oppressive taxes and regulation, strict compliance to our American Constitution and to those moral and political principles that once made America the freest and most prosperous nation in history.

Tea Partiers are vilified by Barack Obama, Al Gore, Barney Frank, Nancy Pelosi, leading Democrats, the Communist Party, and the liberal media. Yet some of these same leftists support the rowdy, dangerous, Occupy Wall Street mobs — who have desecrated American flags, attacked police, strewn trash and human feces all over, smashed store windows, committed numerous acts of vandalism, incurred thousands of arrests, attacked capitalism, free markets and liberty, and apparently advocate some variant of socialism or anarchy.

Judge a cause by the conduct of its advocates.
