GRANTS PASS, Ore. (AP) — Police have accused a landscaper in Southern Oregon of trying to ship 40 pounds of marijuana to New York.

Police told The Grants Pass Daily Courier (http://bit.ly/uNUGmu ) that 43-year-old Max W. McEvoy was arrested Monday after the owner of the copy and shipping shop in Grants Pass called police.

Police say in an affidavit that after acknowledging he was trying to ship marijuana, McEvoy demanded the box back and threatened the owner.

McEvoy was arraigned Tuesday on charges of manufacture and sale of marijuana, menacing the store owner and child neglect.

He posted $2,500 bail and was released.
