Oklahoma’s Castiglione joins NCAA basketball panel

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Oklahoma athletic director Joe Castiglione has been appointed to the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Committee, replacing former Big 12 Conference Commissioner Dan Beebe.

Castiglione will serve the remainder of Beebe’s term through the 2012-13 season. He has previously served on other NCAA panels working on the Academic Progress Rate, championships, diversity and women’s basketball. He is a member of the Bowl Licensing Task Force.

Castiglione has spent the past 13 years as the athletic director at Oklahoma after 17 years at Missouri. He is a 1979 graduate of Maryland.
