Yale eases past DIII Lyndon State 101-37

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) — Sam Martin scored 17 points as Yale eased to a 101-37 victory over Division III Lyndon State on Thursday night.

Fifteen different players scored for the Bulldogs, including Reggie Willhite with 13 points and Austin Morgan with 10.

Yale reached the 100-point scoring mark for the first time since 2003. The Bulldogs (2-1) were 16 of 32 (50 percent) from 3-point range and shot 37 of 71 (52.1 percent) from the floor for the game.

Lyndon State shot just 3 of 17 (17.6 percent) from long range and 13 of 57 (22.8 percent) from the floor.

The Bulldogs won the battle of the boards 50-31 and forced 22 turnovers. Yale turned the ball over just 14 times.

Yale led 56-13 at halftime and outscored the overmatched Hornets by 21 points in the second half.

Jason Gray scored 13 points to pace Lyndon State (0-2).
