Letter: Young protesters shy on experience

The Columbian
Published: November 17, 2011, 4:00pm

Genevieve Kortes, in her Nov. 8 letter, “Police using excessive force,” expresses gratitude “for the youthful protesters who have been undermined for so long by corporate interests.” Pardon me — “for so long”? Many of these youths were fetuses when Bill Clinton got elected president in 1992. Exactly what “long” travails have they experienced other than waiting in line overnight outside the Apple Store to pick up the newest electronic gizmo the following morning?
