PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Police in riot gear have made arrests in a downtown Portland bank office as protesters banged on windows and chanted, “Let them go.”

The arrests followed a waterfront rally and march Thursday morning that drew hundreds of members of organized labor and activists from the former Occupy Portland encampment, broken up by police over the weekend.

It was not immediately clear how many people had been detained after slipping into the Wells Fargo office before the doors were locked.

Police said they warned downtown banks of the protests, and many had locked doors.

Earlier, police arrested more than 20 protesters who sat down in front of a police line on a Willamette River bridge.
