CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Carolina Panthers tight end Jeremy Shockey did not make the trip to Detroit and has been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Lions.

Shockey has 24 receptions for 311 yards and one touchdown this season. This is the first game he’s missed.

Greg Olsen will start for the Panthers and Ben Hartsock is expected to see more playing time with Shockey out of the lineup.

Linebacker Dan Connor’s status remains questionable after he missed the entire week of practice with a shoulder injury.
