Tulane shuts down Maryland-Eastern Shore 73-52

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Kendall Timmons scored 20 points and Tulane played solid defense in a 73-52 victory over Maryland-Eastern Shore on Friday.

Timmons also grabbed nine rebounds for the Green Wave (3-0), and Josh Davis added his third double-double in three games, getting 15 points and 10 rebounds.

Tulane built a 40-20 halftime lead, holding the Hawks (1-2) to 26.1 percent shooting (6 of 23) in the first half and 30 percent (15 of 50) for the game. The Green Wave scored the game’s first eight points, getting 3-pointers from Timmons and Jordan Callahan and a layup by Davis.

Tulane led by 24 points, 53-29, early in the second half before an 11-1 run by the Hawks cut the deficit to 54-40 with 10:57 remaining.

Callahan finished with 10 points for Tulane and Ricky Tarrant scored nine, with six assists.

Louis Bell scored 14 points and Tyler Hines 11 for Maryland-Eastern Shore.
