SEATTLE (AP) — A South King County firefighter remains hospitalized Monday after being struck by a car while responding to a crash on Interstate 5 in Federal Way.

A Harborview Medical Center spokeswoman said Wynn Loiland was in critical condition Monday afternoon.

The 52-year-old Loiland and other firefighters with South King County Fire & Rescue were dispatched to a rollover accident Sunday morning. Officials say they were standing on the shoulder of the road when a 26-year-old man driving a Chevrolet Blazer skidded out of control and struck Loiland.
