BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) — Indiana is bringing back its 1987 national championship team for a 25th anniversary reunion Dec. 4 when the Hoosiers host Stetson.
The first 7,500 fans in attendance will receive a replica calendar poster from the championship season. An autograph session will take place between 3 and 4 p.m. Fans with tickets to the game will be limited to one item for autographs.
All-American Steve Alford, Todd Meier and Scott Dolson, a team manager, have organized the reunion weekend, intended to honor the team that upset No. 1 UNLV 97-93 in the national semifinals and then beat Syracuse 74-73 in the title game on Keith Smart’s baseline jumper just before the buzzer.
The Indiana women’s team also plays Dec. 4 at noon.
