Manhattan tips Fresno St. 85-83 in NIT consolation

FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) — Roberto Colonette made a rebound basket with 4 seconds left as Manhattan defeated Fresno State 85-83 on Monday night in the consolation bracket of the NIT Season Tip-Off.

After Michael Alvarado missed a layup, Colonette outmuscled two Fresno State defenders and put the ball right back up for the victory. Fresno State failed to get off a final shot.

Donovan Kates led the Jaspers (3-1) with 14 points. George Beamon, Alvarado and Colonette scored 13 each.

The Jaspers shot 54 percent in the second half.

Kevin Olekaibe scored 22 of his 25 points in the second half for the Bulldogs (2-2). He made two four-points plays in the final 1:24. Kevin Foster and Garrett Johnson added 10 points each.
