Starting DBs Chung, McCourty inactive for Patriots

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) — Starting defensive backs Patrick Chung and Devin McCourty are inactive for the New England Patriots’ game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Chung, a safety, missed his second straight game with a foot injury. McCourty, a cornerback, hurt his shoulder in the Patriots’ previous game, a 37-16 win over the New York Jets.

Also inactive for the Patriots were running back Kevin Faulk, linebackers Brandon Spikes, Jeff Tarpinian and Dane Fletcher and quarterback Ryan Mallett.

Two starters, defensive end Glenn Dorsey (knee injury) and safety Jon McGraw (shoulder), were inactive for the Chiefs on Monday night. Their inactive list also included linebacker Demorrio Williams, defensive lineman Brandon Bair, offensive tackle Steve Maneri, tight end Anthony Becht and wide receiver Keary Colbert.
