FEDERAL WAY, Wash. (AP) — Police wounded a man in the leg during a confrontation early Tuesday in Federal Way.

Officers had responded to a domestic violence call about 2:40 a.m. at an apartment, and the suspect fled out a back window. Two other men at the apartment said their roommate had become intoxicated an assaulted them.

Police spokeswoman Cathy Schrock told KOMO News (http://bit.ly/tmI2T6 ) officers were looking for the man when he suddenly charged, “making animal-type sounds.”

Two officers fired. The 33-year-old suspect was taken to a Seattle hospital with a leg wound. He’s expected to survive.
