SPRINGFIELD, Ore. (AP) — The body of a 53-year-old Springfield man was recovered in a county park late Monday morning by Springfield police after he was reported missing during the weekend. .
The cause and manner of the man’s death had not yet been determined, and authorities are investigating, the Eugene Register-Guard reports (http://bit.ly/uvVqgO ).
An autopsy was conducted Monday by the Lane County Medical Examiner’s Office. Springfield police contacted the Lane County sheriff’s office because the body was recovered outside Springfield’s city limits.
Springfield police first located the man’s vehicle, which was found at the park entrance.
