Jasmine is a 5 1/2 -year-old miniature pinscher mix who loves snuggling and a good belly scratch. This little girl is looking for a family that is quiet and laid-back, just like her. She should meet any kids older than 6 first. Do you have room in your heart for her?

Meet Mohawk, a 1-year-old flame point Siamese. He came to the shelter when his family could no longer care for him. Mohawk will need to be indoors only to keep his coat free of mats. He would like a home with children older than 14, since he does not like to be held a lot.

These pets are among those available for adoption from noon to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Humane Society for Southwest Washington, 1100 N.E. 192nd Ave., Vancouver. Fees — which can include registered microchip, health exam, a spay or neuter certificate and vaccination — vary. Call 360-693-4746.
